The Bankers Market, operated by the Human Resources Department and published in the biweekly Exchange, is a recruitment service offered to IBA member and non-member banks. The following are policy rules for banks and individuals who would like to use the Bankers Market.
MEMBER BANKS
The Bankers Market accepts “Positions Available” and “For Sale/Wanted” announcements from member banks at no cost to them. The bank has the option of using its name, address and telephone number in the announcement or may request that the bank’s identification be withheld. When the bank’s identification has been withheld, its name and location will not be given out to anyone either by phone or mail. The IBA will run Bankers Market “Position Available” announcements in three consecutive issues of the Exchange unless otherwise notified by the bank. The IBA should be notified when the position is filled.
NON-MEMBER BANKS
The Bankers Market also accepts “Position Available”, and “For Sale/Wanted” announcements from non-member banks in and out of state, at a cost of $60 for three consecutive issues.
SERVICE ADS
Service ads can be placed by members only. Ads can be purchased to run annually, semi-annually or quarterly. Please contact Jessica Tomlinson for pricing information.
INDIVIDUALS
Individuals seeking bank positions may place an ad in the Bankers Market in the “Position Wanted” section. To do so, individuals must submit the following: one copy of the ad they want to run, a copy of their resume to be sent to the banks requesting it, and a check for $20 to cover administrative costs; recent college graduates are not charged. The IBA runs the Bankers Market “Position Wanted” announcements in three consecutive issues of the Exchange unless otherwise notified by the individual.
Bankers wishing to see copies of the resume available through the “Position Wanted” section may call or email (jtomlinson@iowabankers.com) and request them from IBA.
Individuals wishing to respond to a “Position Available” announcement should contact the bank directly when the bank’s name and location are published. If it is not published, individuals should send a resume to the IBA and include, on the outside of the envelope, the Bankers Market identification number to which they wish their resume to be sent. All contact after that will be made between the bank and the individual.
Individuals simply wanting to receive copies of the Bankers Market should send a supply of self-addressed, stamped business size envelopes to the Iowa Bankers Association. It can also be viewed on our web-site at www.iowabankers.com.
