Identity Theft Red Flag Guidelines Web Seminar
February 14 • 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.

On November 9, 2007 regulatory agencies published final regulations implementing Section 114 (Red Flag Guidelines) and Section 315 (Reconciling Address Discrepancies) of the FACT Act. Compliance is mandatory by November 1, 2008. The program must be in place as soon as possible. Completion will take several months. Additionally, bank customers are losing substantial amounts of money as a result of identity theft. Those who use credit reports need policies and procedures to use when they receive a notice of address discrepancy from a consumer reporting agency. The user must form a reasonable belief that the report relates to the consumer and furnish a confirmed address to the reporting agency.

Compliance will require a substantial investment of time. Upon completion participants will understand how to:
• Reconcile address discrepancies;
• Develop an Identity Theft Prevention Program;
• Identify covered accounts;
• Detect the Identity Theft Red Flags when opening accounts, making a loan, or in connection with any existing account or loan and more.
