As marketers we are always looking for new, creative ways to market our products. Many of us have the same products to sell, so how do we put our own flare on what we have to offer?

This year’s marketing conference theme is “Creativity Zone: Bank Marketers At Work,” and that is exactly what we will be doing: Working (and having a little fun too!) to come up with new ideas, to bring home the latest marketing tactics and to share successes with our peers. Our goal as a Marketing Committee is to give you the tools you need to rejuvenate for another year of bank marketing.

We’ll start off the conference Wednesday afternoon with a presentation on creating effective marketing plans and building ROI for the bank. I don’t know any bank marketer who isn’t looking for a way to make a better marketing plan and build ROI. That evening dinner along with comedy at the Funny Bone is sure to get everyone pumped for the rest of the conference!

Thursday is a day filled with speakers and breakout sessions. A wide range of topics will be covered, from leading a branded organization to marketing to generations to financial literacy to crucial conversations. These are topics that are certainly pertinent to today’s marketing environment. Late afternoon our exhibitors will host a wonderful reception where the fun and conversations will continue.

Friday starts off with the Best of Iowa Breakfast and Awards. You don’t want to miss this! Great food and great ideas! Presidents and CEOs, we love to see you there too!

Friday continues with a presentation on building a better Web site and competing against the competition. Roundtables will be in full swing by late morning and after lunch there will be a dynamic presentation on reconstructing your life, reestablishing your goals and regaining balance in your life.

In addition to the conference schedule — and just as important — is conversing with peers and sharing ideas. Marketing Conference is a great opportunity to meet new people and see what others are doing in the state of Iowa.

So, come to the zone — “The Creativity Zone” — May 7-9 at the IBA Bank Marketing Conference. Information and registration are available on the Iowa Bankers Association Web site at www.iowabankers.com. I hope to see you there!
