Support IPTV at the 2007 Convention Silent Auction
Did you love Big Bird? Do your kids or grandkids watch Elmo or beg for Barney? Do you feel good about them watching such programs? If so, you’re not alone. A recent study indicates that not only are you not alone, you’re in the majority…a big majority. Ninety percent of parents believe that PBS KIDS programming is educational and 86 percent believe that it is high quality. So, why in the world wouldn’t we support public television in general and Iowa Public Television (IPTV) specifically?
Well, there is no good reason and now you’ve got your chance. At this year’s IBA Silent Auction, we’ll be auctioning off a wide range of wonderful goodies that should get you to pull out your wallet and shout, “I want to help Iowa Public Television!” Proceeds from the auction have benefit IPTV for over 14 years.
Items will be on display and available for bidding in the Convention Exhibit Hall from 9:00 a.m. on Monday, September 17 until 6:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday, September 18 from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Bidding will end at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Winning bidders must be present at this time to pay for and pick-up their items.
Some of the wonderful items available this year are: dinner with Congressman Tom Latham (Valued at $1,000); dinner with Congressman Leonard Boswell (Valued at $1,000); two tickets to the 2008 Final Four Basketball Game Championship for April 07, 2008, at the Alamo Dome in San Antonio, TX (Valued at $1,500); and Iowa Hawkeye Football tickets (Valued at $300 each). As always, there will be plenty of vacation packages, fun toys and games for the grandkids, as well as items for the men and women of the house.
