IBA introduces Two-day Branch Manager Seminar
The Two-day Branch Manager Seminar hosted by the Iowa Bankers Association will take place Oct. 15-16 at the Sheraton Hotel in West Des Moines. This new two-day seminar is designed for branch managers who desire to improve their banking and management skills as they learn and adjust to new and expanded responsibilities.

Two-day Real Estate Lending Seminar
The Two-Day Real Estate Lending Seminar will provide comprehensive coverage of the real estate lending requirements of each regulation, along with the policy suggestions, employee training tips, audit techniques and steps to eliminate past problems. Emphasis is placed on coverage and exemption rules, determining which disclosures are required and the content of the required disclosures. This year’s revisions to the John Warner National Defense Authorization Act and FACT Act will also be addressed.
The seminar will be offered Oct. 20-21 in Johnston and Oct. 22-23 in Cedar Rapids. The program is approved for 12 hours of CRCM credit.

Seminar offers preparation for the Iowa Credit Life and Disability Licensing Exam
The Iowa Bankers Association is pleased to offer the 2008 Credit Life & Disability Study Workshop to help attendees preparing for the Iowa Credit Life and Disability Licensing Examination. The bulk of the presentation addresses practical issues, identifying key “pulse points” with samples of properly completed forms for routine transactions. Recent developments, such as the revised reporting method for sole proprietorships, are addressed. Highlights include: when a CTR is required; aggregation rules; cashing payroll checks; identification requirements; currency exchanges and more.
