Wurzer: Earning Respect With Honesty
Landon Wurzer is a credit analyst at First Citizens Bank and says there’s more to his role than people may realize. Between internal evaluations and reviewing appraisals, he deals with residential properties more than people might think. Wurzer said the best piece of career advice he’s received is to be open and honest with customers to avoid wasting time and that honesty earns respect. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing and spending time with friends.

What’s something about your role people might not expect?
One thing about my role that people might not expect is how often we deal with evaluating residential properties. Between internal evaluations and reviewing appraisals, it is a big part of the job!
What’s the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received?
I’d say the best piece of career advice I have received is to always be honest and upfront with the customer. No one likes their time wasted and honesty is always respected.
What’s an event or iowa tradition you look forward to every year?
An Iowa tradition I look forward to every year is the Iowa State Fair. My parents would take me as a kid every year and the concerts are always a good time!
what’s an interesting or lesser-known fact about you?
An interesting fact about me is that I’ve never lost a game of euchre!
What do you do outside of work to recharge?
To recharge outside of work, I like to golf or play cards with friends.
