I love connecting with clients, businesses and consumers. I enjoy helping them discover the products and services that help make their personal or business finances operate more smoothly.

Describe one life experience that taught you a lesson that you apply to your banking career.

When money gets tight and you feel like you are drowning in debt, don’t give up! Take a deep breath, organize, prioritize and make a plan. You can succeed and prosper with patience a plan. I learned at a young age that your credit score affects nearly every monetary decision you make from making large purchases like a home or auto to getting insurance or employment. Keep your credit scores in a good position!

What is your best elevator pitch for why banking is a great career?

Working in the financial services industry, especially community banking, allows you to help clients succeed financially. Oftentimes, these clients are community members, neighbors or even your friends. It is so rewarding to help someone achieve their dream of starting a small business or buying their first home. Community banking allows you to give back to the communities in which you live and work.

How does getting involved with the Iowa Bankers Association help you and your bank?

Iowa Bankers helps create connections with others in the industry across the state. They are a huge asset for continuing education and keeping banks abreast of all the latest banking news and trends.

When you’re not at work, what do you like to do most?

When not at work, I enjoy being outside or spending time with my husband and daughters, extended family and friends. I also enjoy a good game of cards. I especially enjoy Cribbage or Bridge but will play just about any card game.

What is a quote or guiding principle you live by?

Holding people accountable can be uncomfortable. But what could be worse is having people fail because you won’t coach or correct them. Holding someone accountable is something you do for them, not to them. It helps promote each person’s personal and professional growth.
