Ehrp: Supporting Success Behind the Scenes
Tyler Ehrp is a loan support specialist for Luana Savings Bank, said his role goes beyond just paperwork and processing. He coordinates with employers and insurance companies behind the scenes to help ensure every loan closes smoothly. The best career advice he’s received? Find a mentor. Ehrp says there’s value in forming a genuine relationship with someone in the same career field who can speak from experience and give advice. Outside of work, Ehrp stays active in the gym, on the pickleball court or golf course, or in Kinnick Stadium cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes.
What’s something about your role people might not expect?
As a loan support specialist, part of my role includes some behind-the-scenes responsibilities that some may not expect. I regularly communicate with employers and third-party companies to verify that borrowers’ employment status prior to loan closing. In addition, I also collaborate with insurance companies to make sure our bank is listed as the mortgagee, helping protect our financial interest in the property.
What’s the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received?
One of the most valuable pieces of career advice I’ve received is to find a mentor. Seek for someone who’s already in the role or career path you want and take the time to build a genuine relationship with them. Having a mentor can offer guidance, share experiences, provide advice, and can help prepare you to reach goals that you are striving toward.
What’s an event or iowa tradition you look forward to every year?
Every year, I look forward to attending Iowa Hawkeyes football games. My family has season tickets for all the home games, so it’s something I always look forward to — spending time together, enjoying the atmosphere, and reconnecting with our tailgating group.
what’s an interesting or lesser-known fact about you?
A lesser-known fact about me is that I’m an early morning person. I prefer getting up early and starting my day with a workout, which helps set the tone and gives me energy for the rest of the day, rather than staying up late.
What do you do outside of work to recharge?
Outside of work, I recharge by staying active, whether that’s going to the gym, playing golf or pickleball, or attending concerts with friends. I also enjoy traveling, exploring different parts of the country, and trying new foods and restaurants.
