We’ll also have a banker panel discuss how they are dealing with the increased fraud and their investigative and decision making process.
  • Regulator Panel – we will have representatives from the OCC, FDIC and Federal Reserve discuss common errors and violations that they are seeing, best practices for a successful exam and their agencies stance on overdrafts and NSF fees.
  • ARM Lending – Requirements & Tripwires – Ginger McCullough with FORVIS will discus ARMS, including requirements and tripwires related to early disclosures, rate changes, notices and system parameters.
  • IBA Regulatory Update – Julie and Ronette with the IBA will give status updates on beneficial ownership requirements, the Small Business Data Collection rule and CRA as well as covering other regulatory hot topics.

Purpose & Philosophy
This Alumni Update meets the needs of Iowa Bankers Association (IBA) Compliance School graduates interested in maintaining their professional investment. It is an update on key compliance topics and an introduction to recent legislation. This one-day school includes updated modules from the week-long IBA Compliance School. Instructors assume the audience is familiar with general regulatory requirements and focus on common problems and recent developments. Alumni will be able to add new topics to their compliance repertories and expand their networking contacts throughout Iowa.
Manual & Handouts
All attendees will receive a link to a digital version of the week-long Compliance School manual. It includes outlines on all topics covered in the 2024 Lending Compliance School and the 2024 Deposit Operations School, not just those topics addressed in the Alumni Update School. You can receive a paper copy of the manual as well for an additional $30. All attendees will receive paper copies of any handouts specific to the Alumni Update.
Who can attend?
The school is open to graduates of IBA’s Compliance School, either lending module, deposit module, or both. Graduates of the 2024 Lending Compliance and Deposit/Operations Compliance schools are eligible to attend.
