The Iowa Bankers Association’s human resources team is here to help you stay compliant and support your HR team. Our services are built to provide guidance with sample documents or one-on-one consulting services to help with your specific needs.

Consulting

The Iowa Bankers Association HR team offers both consulting (available to come on-site) as well as general HR support services. These services may include FLSA audit, document and record keeping guidelines, and information on policies and procedures.

Peer Groups

The IBA HR team has organized quarterly human resources peer groups. This allows the HR departments from member banks to have round-table discussions regarding current and upcoming HR issues.

As unique situations arise in the HR world, it is invaluable to have a network of peers to go to for guidance. The IBA’s HR peer groups can provide this network through quarterly meetings as well as coordinated communication groups that allow the group to gain feedback and share ideas throughout the year. The HR peer groups meet at the IBA offices in Johnston.

Internship Program

The IBA HR team has created an internship program to support member banks with their recruiting, onboarding, and training. All interns who participate in this program are invited to attend three sessions at Iowa Bankers over the summer at no charge to the bank.

The IBA HR team has created an employee benefits guide that can be customized to your bank’s specific offerings. The team can also work with you to create annual benefits statements that are specific to each of your employees.

Iowa Bankers Association has created a “one-stop-shop” employee benefits guide that can be customized to your bank’s specific offerings.

This guide was created to give your employees their benefit offerings at a glance, contact information if they have questions and one place where they can see all benefits and resources available to them.

There is a one-time setup fee of $550.

Employee Benefit Statement

Want to give your employees an overview of the benefits they received during the year? The IBA HR team will work with you to create annual benefits statements specific to each of your employees.

The cost is $5 per statement. You have the option to have statements sent to you electronically or printed and mailed to your employees for a fee.

Employee Handbook Sample

For a small fee, Iowa Bankers HR offers a sample handbook to member banks that contains all pertinent language necessary for most banks in the state of Iowa. Individual sample policies are available on request or policies can be sent to the HR department for review and comment.

The Iowa Bankers Association (IBA) offers a sample handbook for sale to member banks for $150*. The handbook contains all of the pertinent language necessary for most banks in the state of Iowa.

*The $175 fee includes a copy of our current sample handbook. Any legal updates will be communicated to all bankers, who may then add or make the necessary changes to their individual handbook. If there are significant updates/changes to the handbook, banks will need to re-pay the fee to receive the updated version.

Salary Survey

The Iowa Bankers Association (IBA) conducts an annual salary survey that includes salary information for over 90 positions and information on full-time employee benefits and directors fees. All banks in the state are invited to participate in the survey. Banks that participate receive a copy of the results as soon as they become available at a greatly discounted rate.
