Wright: Trust Yourself and Say Yes
Crystal Wright, vice president, business banking officer at Community State Bank, Ankeny, would advise up-and-coming bankers to say yes to new opportunities. She believes that when you trust in your ability to learn and adapt quickly, you will rise to the challenge and excel in whatever the new opportunity entails. She began her banking career as a teller but advanced after gaining hands-on experience and knowledge. The accomplishments she is most proud of include playing a role in a bank acquisition, leading the execution of an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) amendment and plan merger, and successfully opening and managing a brand-new branch. She said, “I am most proud of these milestones as they reflect my dedication to grow and have a meaningful impact on the banking industry and in the communities I serve.”
Wright enjoys working with the IBA as it allows her to stay informed on the latest advancements in technology or changes in regulations. She is also grateful for the educational opportunities the IBA offers. She added, “When I started in commercial lending, the IBA was my first stop for training. Anyone looking to refresh or advance their skills should check out the training calendar.”
