Banking Allows Weber to Make an Impact

Traci Weber headshotTraci Weber’s favorite thing about working in the banking industry is being “able to positively impact people’s lives,” she said. “Whether it’s through coaching employees in their career aspirations, providing services to customers or community involvement through volunteering.”

Weber, a graduate from Eastern Iowa Community College, works as vice president, loan operations manager for QCR Holdings, Inc. Outside of work, she enjoys listening to True Crime podcasts, and spending time with friends and family.

What is your favorite thing about working in the banking industry?

Being able to positively impact people’s lives. Whether it’s through coaching employees in their career aspirations, providing services to customers or community involvement through volunteering.

Describe one life experience that taught you a lesson that you apply to your banking career.

The best way to teach or coach someone is to learn it yourself and put the lesson into your own words or actions before passing it on.

What is your best elevator pitch for why banking is a great career?

The banking industry is a wonderful opportunity for people looking to grow, both personally and professionally. It is an industry that is ever-evolving, well supported with opportunities and education for all and prioritizes work-life balance.

How does getting involved with the Iowa Bankers Association help you and your bank?

The Iowa Bankers Association helps me continue my education in banking, keeps me informed on changes within the industry and provides me with a platform to build connections.

When you’re not at work, what do you like to do most?

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, listening to true crime podcasts, reading, going for walks and volunteering.

What is a quote or guiding principle you live by?

“Most of the people that come against us are simply distractions. The negative comments, the disrespect, the insults are just bait trying to pull us off course. The good fight of faith is not to straighten them out — the real fight is to keep your focus.”
