2025 IBA Employment Law Compliance Workshop

This timely workshop, presented by the attorneys of the Employment & Labor Law Practice of Dickinson Bradshaw, will provide HR professionals with relevant, practical and up-to-date information to help your bank with legal compliance. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions of a team of attorneys with decades of collective legal experience, as well as discuss solutions while networking with your counterparts from across Iowa.

Workshop Topics:
Participants will workshop scenarios about the medical conditions of employees and their family members. The case studies will all be new! Expect to learn how the ADA, ICRA, PWFA, FMLA, and FLSA apply to topics like these:

  •  Employee conduct: suspicious requests, side gigs, employees who are out of paid leave
  •  Medical certifications/doctor’s notes: when to request and when to require, when and how to get more information
  •  Reasonable accommodations: applicants, commuting, caring for family members, obesity procedures, what is and isn’t an “interactive” process, using AI
  • Performance management: addressing absences in performance reviews, discipline, and terminations
  • Miscellaneous: benefit plan coverage exclusions, reverse disability discrimination, applying different leaves to the same absence
