Advocacy Opportunities

Bankers Day on the Hill

Bankers Day on the Hill is an opportunity for Iowa bankers to meet with legislators face-to-face to discuss issues impacting their banks. The next Bankers Day on the Hill will be announced shortly.

Financial Town Halls

The IBA Financial Town Hall meetings provide a unique opportunity to discuss issues important to banking in a relaxed setting with elected officials. Town halls are hosted annually September – October.

Capitol Hill Visit

The IBA Capitol Hill Visit is an experience bankers should take advantage of. It provides the chance to meet with peers and expand understanding of policy and regulation. The next Capitol Hill Visit to Washington, D.C., will be June 9-11, 2025.

Leaders in Advocacy

This program will establish an advocacy base of young leaders who are educated on the issues and understand how to effectively communicate with legislators and regulators. The program will last one year, followed by continuous involvement in IBA advocacy efforts. Aside from participation in monthly meetings and visits to the Capitol and Washington, D.C., leaders will also establish a bank advocacy plan.
